| Training animals, specifically horses, has been a part of Cindy Burke's life for 40 years. She has trained horses and riders to compete safely through the international levels of Eventing. Beginning at birth, foals are taught ground manners and are handled daily. Most of what youngsters learn once humans are in the saddle has already been taught through handling from the ground during their first 2-3 years of life. Training for our foals begins the day he or she is born. Young children, as well as horses are put through an extensive training program. It allows children to experience riding and lessoning on multiple mounts, learn basic training methods, understand the importance of equine ground manners, participate as an active member of a functioning competition barn, and finally, develop a wide range of horsemanship skills that promote safety and harmonious partnering with our equine friends. Horses are developed slowly and trained to become safe, happy partners. The horses' development is a core component to being able to share these mounts between multiple students, so that the human side of the equation is able to advance her skills with confidence on an experienced horse. |
|
| Cindy has trained many horses that have gone on to teach and assist students in moving up the levels in eventing. Currently, her horse, Fantasia (trained from day one) is partnered with Hannah Ross and has competed at the North American Young Rider's Championships and will compete at the 2* level this season.

| Dressage lessons are provided year-round in a full sized outdoor arena or a smaller indoor arena, according to the needs of the individual, their horse or inclement weather. In appropriate weather, cross country, stadium jumping and gymnastic lessons are taught several times a week in a group format. These lessons utilize the cross country terrain and provide experience covering rolling ground in a real life setting.
Those shipping in for training/lessons can participate with scheduled practices of members of the KSS team or individual lessons can be scheduled. Clinics are provided at various times throughout the year and can also be scheduled for groups wishing to haul to the KSS facility. For people arriving at KSS for clinics or several days of intensive training with their horse, a lovely country schoolhouse retreat is available 3 miles from the KSS farm. Beautiful surroundings and comfortable, cozy renovated, former 1-room schoolhouse, complete with amenities, is available to rent by the day or the week! Check out their website: www.countryschoolretreat.110mb.com. |

| KSS has hosted clinics in the past with clinician, bronze medal Olympian and Pan Am Games winner, Darren Chiacchia. |
