Allie

Allie has been riding most of her life, has participated in Pony Club, the rodeo circuit, and spent time working at an eventing/hunting barn in England getting her British Horse Instruction Certificate. Allie travels 2.5 hours - one way - to participate in lessons here at KSS. She has completed her Bachelor's Degree at Ames and is currently operating her own boarding stable in southeastern Iowa. Allie has competed with the KSS team for 5 years and has competed through the Preliminary level.

Andrea

Andrea has been riding from age 4 and has competed since age 8. She's helped train dozens of horses and has competed through the intermediate level of eventing. She competed for Area Four in the North American Young Rider's Championships in 2005.

Chris

Chris and her horse "Boo" have been competing with the KSS team for 4 years. Chris is an inspiration to our younger riders. She is a firefighter in her "real life," and she has been involved with the horse industry in earlier years as a jockey. She has raised and trained "Boo" for her new adventure in eventing and has competed through the training level. Chris did her first training three day this year.

Derith

Though Derith competed in years past, she has also been involved in providing horses for youngsters at the barn to ride and learn from. She has been our official "barn photographer" for over a decade and has provided many memories for us all through the lens of her camera. She had filled up our scrapbooks and has supplied many of the photos for this website. The last two years, she has begun riding her young horse, "Lynn" where she has enjoyed great success.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth has been competing with the KSS team for 3 years, beginning on a KSS lesson horse and now with her TB mare, Rosie. She has successfully competed at the BN and Novice levels and most recently moved up to the Training level.

Erin

Erin has been riding, working, competing and providing support to other riders at the barn for over a decade. She is instrumental in helping to manage barn operations and starts ground work with our youngsters (both human and equine). She is an exceptional groom for our upper level riders and helps to keep our competition horses in peak condition.

Grace

Grace has been competing with the KSS team for 3 years and has been involved with lessons for almost 8. She began her competition career on her pony, Merrylegs and has graduated to her current partner, "Jack", (who used to be Sara's mount). Since this new partnering, Grace continues to amaze us all.

Tracy

Tracy had trained and ridden horses most of her life and has been involved with the KSS team for the past 10 years. She has competed through the Preliminary level with her now retired, long term companion. She is now bringing a youngster along to partner with over the coming years.

Sarah

Sarah has been grooming and riding with the KSS team for 6 years. She has competed on several mounts and has successfully evented through the Training level. She is looking toward competing this summer at Training and possibly the Preliminary level.

Julie

Julie has been a part of our traveling troupe for several years and is currently competing her young warmblood, Galloway. She travels approximately 3 hours to lesson at KSS during the spring and competition months. She is a great addition to the "seasoned" portion of our competition team!

Lizzie

Lizzie has been grooming, taking lessons and riding with the KSS team for 8 years with different mounts. She most recently competed at the Preliminary level with a "school master" and is now training her new youngster, "julia," to compete. She is currently a Sophomore in college with her eyes set on becoming a veterinarian.

Ruth

Ruth and her equine partner, Gentleman Benjamin Rossini have been competing with the KSS eventing team for 2 years. It was a goal of Ruth's to "just compete," and she has accomplished that with her gentle giant of a partner with flying colors! Laughingly considered KSS West, Ruth, Ben and another KSS competitor travel from Sioux City, Iowa to lesson, clinic, and compete with our motley gang. We all look forward to the spring of each year when KSS West can begin the pilgrimage 5.5 hours east to enjoy the coming season with the rest of us.

Mary

Mary travels over 3 hours to participate in KSS activities including clinics and lessons. She is currently bringing along a new mount and is interested in competing at the training level with an eye toward a possible preliminary course or two. Her background is in fox hunting and she brings a wealth of experience with her into the eventing arena and is a member of the "seasoned" portion of our team.

Hannah

Hannah has ridden at KSS for ten years. She is involved in training and riding young horses, and competes in horse trials through the Intermediate level. Her goal is to ride and train event horses for a living. She has competed the last three years with Area IV at the North American Young Riders' Championships. We wish her all the best in her educational endeavors.
